A TOUCHING MOMENT
As we too were deeply touched by the Papua-people visiting our desert camp in the Negev, and as we were graciously invited to assist the donation of the gold for the Holy Temple of Jerusalem Ė we can hereby confirm that the report from the Temple Institute is correct. We saw the tears of Rabbi Yehuda Glick and heard him say: "More than anything Iím moved to see the fulfilment of the words of the prophets," and we experienced the moment, when the gold Ďfrom the far islandsí were presented to Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, the founder of the Temple Institute.
West Papua Delegation Donates Gold For Holy Temple
by Ezra HaLeviwww.IsraelNN.com On Wednesday, the last day of the Sukkot festival, a 34-person delegation from West Papua presented a large amount of gold to be used in the building of the Holy Temple.
The delegation from West Papua presents the gold for the Holy Temple to Rabbi Yehuda Glick, director of the Temple Institute.
The delegation, including representatives of the nationís government, explained that they study the Bible regularly and recently came upon a verse in Zecharia (6:16) reading "And the distant ones will come and build the Temple of G-d." They discussed the passage among themselves and decided that their faith obligates them to fulfill the verse.
West Papua, located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, is rich in gold mines, so the delegation thought it natural to donate gold for the Holy Temple. The Holy Temple will be built in the place where the First and Second Temples once stood Ė on Jerusalemís Temple Mount.
The group heard of the Temple Institute in Israel, which deals with advancing the building of the Temple, and on Hoshana Raba - the 7th day of Sukkot - the delegation arrived at the Institute's headquarters in Jerusalemís Old City and presented the gold to Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, a founder of the institute, and Yehuda Glick, its director.
The group presented a kilogram of gold and a large sum of money. They requested that the gold be used to construct vessels for the Temple and that the funds be used by the institute for any purpose it sees fit. The institute has a fund set aside for exclusive use for the actual construction of the temple, as well as funds for building the vessels and engaging in educational projects. Rabbi Chaim Richman of the Temple Institute and Israel National Radio, said that, in view of the Halakhic problems that could be caused by specifically consecrating money and gold for the Holy Temple, an escrow account was opened, as was a safe deposit box for all donations; both have been explicitly set aside for use in building the Temple, and will remain untouched until then.
Rabbi Ariel said the episode was emotional as it constituted the fulfillment of the words of the prophets that nations will come from afar to help build the House of G-d in Jerusalem. "There is no doubt that this is a sign that the rest of our prophetsí prophecies will soon be fulfilled as well."
Delegation members said that although this is their first contribution for the Temple, it will certainly not be their last. "They said that in Papua there are fine trees that they hope to one day bring aboard a ship to Israel in order to be used in the building of the Holy Temple," the rabbi said.
The Temple Institute was established twenty years ago, and deals with research and education about the Holy Temple. The institute has published dozens of books and has prepared more than 70 of the gold, silver and copper vessels needed for Temple service.
Just two weeks ago, the institute completed a large "King Davidís Lyre." Its craftsmen are working now on the golden headpiece worn by the high priest.
Some of the vessels prepared by the institute for use in the Temple include the golden menorah (candelabrum), the show-bread table, the golden altar, Levite musical instruments and priestly clothes. The vessels are on display at the institute's headquarters on the Old Cityís Misgav Ladach street.
Reactions on the Internet:
Remember what G-d states in His Torah in Genesis 12:2-3 "And I will make of you a great nation; I will bless you, and make your name great, and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who curses you I will curse; and all the families of the earth shall bless themselves by you."They blessed Israel with this donation to the rebuilding of the Beit Ha-Mikdash and thus in return they shall be blessed. Am Yisrael Chai!

What a wonderful gift. They believe and do. Many neither believe nor do. May they receive many blessings. They read the prophets and believed the words. Amazing.

3. Zachariah 6:15
Zechariah 6:15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.

4. What a contrast!!
Olmert dealing with terrorists and giving them land and money that belongs to the israelis; talking about the 'right of return' of arabs who belong in arabia or any other muslim carved out nation etc.. and then here we have a group of believers in the God of the Bible, from a very poor country, who are honoring God by such act of faith and support for Israel and the jewish people. This is oustanding!!And He says that He will honor those who honor HIM.

5. The Indonesian Occupation
Since 1963, West Papua has been occupied by Indonesia. In 1969, it forced a rigged vote to prevent independence. The occupation included the theft of native-owned lands, destruction of rainforests, construction of settlements, Islamization, and massacres of pro-independence demonstrators. The UN is obsessing over the Palestinian cause, while ignoring the occupation of West Papua. Maybe Israel will do the right thing and recognize West Papua's right to self-determination.

7. Last year as well?chava, yerushalayim (07/10/07)
Didn't they, or another country, donate gold last year as well? I think this needs to be publicized more widely, both in the Temple Institute itself, and throughout Israel and the Jewish world.
There will not be a Temple if Olmert gives away the nation and the Waqf continues to destroy what it wants to further its claims.

Why no mention?
Daniel Freeman, San Francisco (07/10/07)
This nation is a very poor but a deeply spiritual one. They are a kind, gentle race of people who do not have an easy life b/c of the proximity to Indonesia.
When a terrible tsunami hit their island about 12 years ago, they immediatly attributed it to a severe heavenly judgement. They can see the connection between Hashem and themselves..... the Israeli government should be as intuitive!! May this donation be the start of the gathering in of people and may MOSHIACH come NOW!!!
Aidel, Sydney (07/10/07)
18. Baruch HaShem
Thank you very much for the donations. HaShem will continue to bless those who help to build the Third Temple. Now if I can only convince the Temple Institute to build in the northern section we can begin clearing the site and excavating for the foundation. I suppose they are still waiting for the moshiach to explain it to them again. Otherwise we will have to wait until the Dome of the Rock either falls down or is taken down. That my fellow friends is why we have not built it yet. You can read more at my website www.TheMitzvahProject.org.

24. Blinded by the shine of goodness, when they need clear vision.
GOOD-HEARTED but fooled by too much "Bible-talk. They've taken it too seriously. The IMPORTANT thing is that SHAS is counting up IT'S share of the loot already, I'll bet. Folks, if SHAS offers to "look after it" hide it away FAST.

What a story! Thank you for giving us their email address. Indeed, the least we can do and thank them... and pray for GOD's protection and prosperity over all these wonderful people. Obedience is better than sacrifice...and let us agree that GOD will redeem them from their neighbors destruction.
27. West Papua Delegation Donates Gold For Holy Temple
This is awesome. Only last night we went to the Temple Instatute web site and saw the prototype of the Priestly TZITZ. The set Apart Crown and name of Ha Shem. This gift from this Nation is surely so special and a sign and fulfilment of Prophecy. This will indeed bring blessing upon that nation.

My heart leaps with joy as we get closer to the building of the Temple. I hope #22 is wrong, but as Jeremiah says: "...most devious is the heart; it is perverse-who can fathom it?" Jeremiah 17:9 and "Cursed is he who trusts in man..." Jeremiah 17:5

34. Good people those Papuans...
I grew up in Lae, Papua New Guinea, from the age of one to when I was seven,(1966 to 1972). I have some fond memories of the tropical beauty of the place. I remember traversing with my older brother through the jungle to find old WWII plane wrecks. The vast majority of people in PNG are peace loving. There are a few "rascals" there who commit crimes, but the place has enormous potential. The national symbol is the "Bird of Paradise". It is well named.

Rebuilding the holy temple may be a recipe for war, but war seems inevitable any way.
